Brave souls attended the Great Crested Newt Monitoring Project training day at Canterbury Environmental Education Centre on Sunday 16th March. Despite the weather the group that consisted of both KRAG members and Kent Pond Wardens spent a day learning about the ecology of amphibians. Habitat suitability of the ponds at the centre were looked at as well as a torchlight survey revealing over 20 great crested newts in one of the waterbodies. Many thanks to Beth of CEEC for looking after us so well.
